We are delighted with our new minister, the Reverend Leela R. Sinha.
The Reverend Sinha most recently served as Assistant Minister of the First Unitarian Church in Portland, Oregon, and received her Master of Divinity Degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School. She served as Director of Religious Education for the UU Church of Bangor, Maine, in 1998-99.
Rev. Sinha grew up Unitarian Universalist and came to ministry after work including cabinetmaking and computer technical support. Creativity is central to her work and her life, and beauty and pleasure are the cornerstones of her personal theology.
She writes, "Being a Unitarian Universalist is one of the richest experiences of my life. As UUs we live in tension: at our best we are always journeying but we need never leave home; we are careful and deliberate but open to new ideas; we honor what we think and what we feel; we strive to live our beliefs but make sure we always have something towards which we can reach.
"With this comes the power and responsibility of discernment--we must find for ourselves a theology and a way of life that call us to be our deepest selves. In community we work for honesty, integrity, and love. May we go together in good company and good faith."
